Sydney unveils new light rail extension to western suburbs
The New South Wales government has confirmed a $2.1 billion extension of the Sydney light rail network, adding six new stops through the inner west and linking directly to the growing Bays West precinct.
Construction is due to begin next year, with the first new services expected to run by 2029. Transport Minister’s office says the project will cut commute times for tens of thousands of residents and ease pressure on the congested Victoria Road corridor.
