A purge-victim Turkish woman tweeted a short video of her family walking into a river at the Greek-Turkish border in an attempt to flee Turkey via illegal means.
The family is believed to have been prosecuted by the Turkish government due to alleged membership to the Gulen group, accused of masterminding a coup attempt in 2016. The group denies any involvement.
“My kids will never forget this day,” she said in her tweet.
